One of my images has been chosen for the final six shortlist, Focus For Survival Introducing Photographer of the Year Award 2020.
I took this image using my DJI Mavic drone while on a 12 day, 900 nautical mile diving expedition through the Banda Sea, Indonesia. I sent my drone up from the tender early one morning when the light was just perfect. I enjoyed the feeling of insignificance as we passed prehistoric looking remote places within a world of sea. Here were were approaching the Forgotten Islands and the sea was completely flat, without a puff of wind.
"Just six images have been short-listed for the Focus for Survival Introducing Photographer of the Year 2020 award. The selection panel included patrons Levison Wood and Pip Stewart and professional photographers Paul Goldstein and Will Burrard-Lucas. Thank you to each of them for their time and expertise. Many congratulations to all the short-listed photographers. The six images below will be on display at our exhibition at gallery@oxo on the South Bank in London between 11 and 22 November, and will be available to bid for, in aid of our projects, during the online auction which concludes 22 November."
