The September issue of DIVER magazine includes my four page feature about diving at the Medes Islands, just 2km off the coast of north eastern Spain. This trip formed part of my exploration of what I consider to be the Spanish Med's top thee diving destinations, which include not only the Medes Islands but the remote Columbretes Islands and the plunging pinnacles that make up Murcia's Cabo de Palos marine reserve too. All three destinations are proof of what can be achieved with high levels of wildlife protection. Massive grouper, monster sea fans, bait balling fish, clouds of barracuda and caverns all add to the lengthy list of highlights here.
